Land Rover’s new models and Defender concept create a huge buzz at the Dubai Motor Show 2011

If there was one brand everyone was excited to hear about at the Dubai Motor Show 2011, it was Land Rover. Aside from the luxurious Bentleys and bank-breaking Bugattis, the press were poised to hear what Land Rover had in store; a brand that appeals to a huge and varied market.

Speaking at the stand was John Edwards, Global Brand Director for Land Rover. ‘Our cars represent three key things: functional requirement, everyday need and excellent design.’ Speaking proudly he discussed the ‘tangible sense of excitement at Land Rover right now’, inspired by the success of the new Land Rover Evoque, which was unveiled to the Middle Eastern market at the event and already has 32,000 advanced orders on the books.

Edwards continued, ‘We have been working with the brand’s core DNA of capability, versatility and design to produce new and exciting models, and today I am proud to present to you our new concept for the Land Rover Defender, which has not been redesigned since its initial release.’ And it certainly was something to be excited about as the chunky yet elegant concept had car lovers crooning over it for the rest of the day.

He concluded, ‘we are at an exciting stage within the company and are hugely positive about the future of the brand. Watch this space, there is a lot more to come from Land Rover.’
